Shadow of You
All the sheets stripped from my bed
have gathered all about my head
my body strewn, half on the floor,
I gaze upon my bedroom door
The only thing you left behind
Was your shadow, for me to find
It doesn't act like you'd expect
Or fill me with a deep regret
But every other passing day
Over my head, its hand will lay
And there ill stand, or sit, and weep
And make it through another week
The time I spent with you was like
Bathing in the warm Sunlight
Now that you're gone, i must recall
My life without the Sun at all
Eventually I hope to say
The shadow of you is kept at bay.
